In his day job, Brooks is the Community Energy Associate at the Island Institute in Rockland, ME. Prior to joining the Island Institute, he worked at La Capra Associates, an energy consulting firm in Portland, ME. Brooks is a founding member of Few for Change and has worked to grow the organization since its founding in January 2009. While studying abroad in Panama with the School for International Training (SIT), he visited the Ngäbe village of Quebrada Guabo, an experience that inspired him and his classmates to help improve access to education in the Comarca through the Few for Change scholarship. Brooks served as the Co-Director for three years until assuming his role as President in July 2013.
Brooks is a graduate of Bowdoin College with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and Spanish.
